Chris Ivey joined Trammell, Adkins & Ward, P.C. as an associate in 2017.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ivey worked as a risk management attorney for the State of Tennessee and a civil litigation attorney for another Knoxville-area law firm.  With the State, he drafted and negotiated insurance and other risk-related provisions for many of the State’s multi-million dollar statewide and agency contracts.  With Trammell, Adkins & Ward, Mr. Ivey combines his unique legal practice history to specialize in civil litigation focusing primarily in the areas of insurance and self-insured defense litigation involving automobile and trucking accidents, home owners’ claims, general liability, as well as insurance coverage and claims litigation.  He also has experience in the areas of divorce, family law, social security disability, estate planning, government contracts, cybersecurity and Cloud/SaaS agreements.  Mr. Ivey has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of issues throughout his career. 

Mr. Ivey is an active member of Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations as well as the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association (TDLA).  In law school, he was elected Vice President of the student body and competed on the ABA Moot Court team.

Chris is a Knoxville native and avid follower of University of Tennessee football as a season ticket holder. Other than cheering on the Vols, Chris enjoys watching soccer and supporting Cleveland-based sports teams, no matter how much heartbreak they cause him.  He regularly plays softball and through league, he met his future wife, Brittany. Together, they enjoy going out and spending time with their energetic, German shepherd/chow mix dog, Peyton.
